The Aprilaire Model 5000 is an electronic air cleaner that works silently and effectively to clean the air in your entire house over four times an hour every hour. It will permanently trap particles down to 1 micron. A micron measures one-millionth of a meter wide. A human hair for example is approximately 100 microns in diameter. Particles less than 6 microns are invisible to the naked eye. Allergy causing pollen particles range down to 5 microns, mold and spores to 1 micron, and viruses and bacteria to .01 micron in size.
